Ok guys/girls just wanted to get a couple a things out there as go-by’s and rules for everyone’s safety for race days. Also some general things as well, as some of us are very new to this (racing) and it's been a while since we have done this also.
1. If you are going to be on the track, inside the wood or piped area. No open toed shoes (aka flip-flops or sandals). You need to have something on that will protect your feet from the cars.
2. No reverse, reverse is not allowed, this a universal rule in rc racing. The reason for this is when you stick your car on the pipe, you are looking at your car and 99% of the time you won’t see the guy/girl that you are about to back into. Also when you are coming up on a car and it’s stuck in the pipe. You can assume you can safely go around/behind the car without ruining your lap also.
3. Do not stop your car in the racing line on the track and sit there, if you are adjusting your radio or waiting on your buddy so you can race each other in practice, please move out of the preferred racing line (usually, you would want to be near the outside pipe, the racing line will usually be to the inside.) This is especially true on the straight away, please make every effort not to stop your car/truck on the straight away at all. All the other racers assume it is clear (and there is no real preferred line there) and you will get hit rather hard. And very likely to break your car and the other drivers as well. And please never drive your car backwards (the wrong direction) on the track it will certainly end in parts scattered on the track and an early end to your race day and someone else’s.
4. Turn marshaling,
A) Practice can be rather hectic at times. We will make some changes; there will be designated areas for turn marshals’ to stand, the last thing we want is to get people hit. It will most likely be the outer four corners of the track.
B) After you run your car it is your turn to turn marshal for other drivers, this is the case for all heat racing and also main events and would be appreciated during practice.
C) There will more than likely be controlled practice sessions on race days, meaning the practice time will be limited to cars/trucks of the same type and time limited. The length of time will more than likely be 10 minutes per class. On a rotating schedule.
5. No yelling, cursing, or disrupting other drivers from the drivers stand. Also this is a family friendly activity, there is more than likely a kid close by
6. No leaning over drivers stand rail or obstructing view of other racers.
7. No arguing with other racers on the drivers stand.
8. All racers must obey Race Director Instructions during the race. (ex. if it is announced to roll a section so a marshal can get to a car for the marshal’s safety please listen and pay attention to where you are on the track)
9. The Race Director is responsible for running a fair and non-bias race.
10. The Race Director makes the final call on all issues.
11. The Race Director has the right to disqualify any racer for rule violations.
12. All racers must run their own cars. No substitute drivers in any class
There will be a drivers meeting prior to each event to review these issues and allow all racers an opportunity to ask questions regarding all issues covered.
Thank you, good luck and lets have some fun!!
